Design with clarity. Websites that work.

Design across every platform

My work is organized into three core areas:

Web

Responsive websites built with strategy and usability in mind. Projects include CMS-driven sites, landing pages, nonprofit and church websites, and full redesigns focused on clarity and user experience.

about Me

I’m Nanette McKenney, the owner of Oleander Design, and I’ve been providing graphic and web design services since 1998. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations, as well as educational institutions. My clients have included churches, an orphanage, a university library, a private elementary school, pharmacies, and several start-up entrepreneurs.

I’ve always been an early adopter of web technologies—I started by teaching myself HTML and CSS, and later expanded into tools like Dreamweaver, WordPress, and Squarespace. On the print side, I’ve designed everything from business cards and brochures to banners, booklets, and even billboards. I’m proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, and I’ve also managed Instagram and Facebook accounts for a variety of organizations.

I earned my BFA in Ceramic Sculpture from California State University, Long Beach. When I’m not designing, you can usually find me reading, making ceramic art and pottery, knitting, taking on home DIY projects, or spending time with my family.
